As a father of five children, I understand the joys (and struggles) of parenting. We've developed YourCollegeKid.com as an on-line community for moms and dads of college-aged kids to find, respond and share information. Your College Kid offers insight and guidance to your tough questions.

When it comes to bringing our readers the most relevant info out there, I aim to be head of the class. Some say I have my Master's in serving up tips you use, topics you want to view and facts you never knew. I've been a researcher/writer for almost 15 years, and I'm crazy about everything college. From mascots to midterms, I'm obsessed with reporting on all aspects of college life in today's world—so parents can better connect with their college kids.

After sending two kids to college (and living to tell about it), you could say I'm the "Mother" of all guides on YCK. Why am I here? I want to share my experiences with other parents so hopefully you can learn from my ups and downs as a college mom. My son graduated from Kansas University in 2008, and my daughter graduated from Indiana University in 2010. So while I'll always root for the Illini, Jayhawks and Hoosiers, now I'm the biggest fan of Your College Kid.

Time management is my specialty: I graduated with highest honors, but didn't live at the library. From on-campus jobs to off-campus internships, I ramped up my resume. Socially, I was a sister of Alpha Phi sorority and president of Lambda Pi Eta honor society. And in my free time, I fought the "underclassmen 10 or so" with dance and led a team for the local breast cancer walk. I found a near-perfect academic/social balance, and I'm set on helping your college kid find theirs.

From freshmen roommates squabbling over Ramen noodles to upperclassmen completely freaking out during finals week, I've seen it all over my two years as a Resident Advisor at Wash U. Now I want to bring my RA expertise to students of a different kind: college parents. I'll give you the inside scoop on what really goes on in the dorm. And whenever you have a question about your kid, just come on down and knock on my door.
